What To Expect After Breast Reduction

Breast reduction can bring with it some side effects, and your doctor should warn you about them before surgery is performed.

One possible problem could be difficult breast feeding. The procedure may impair the likelihood of breastfeeding success because it may alter the lactiferous duct system.

Studies show, however, that many patients who undergo the surgery are able to breastfeed easily.

Scarring, uneven breasts retarded healing, altered nipple sensitivity, fluid retention in the breast, modified erogenous function, and sagging are some other potential side effects.

Scarring from this surgery may be large scale and permanent. At the start, the scars will be reddish and lumpy, but they will normally heal into smaller cars and may look like thin stripes that are slightly discolored.

Even if the scarring is permanent, the surgeon can make the scars pretty much disappear so you will be able to wear tops with plunging necklines with confidence.
