Male Hair Loss

Did you know that hair loss in males is a symptom of andropause? And what is andropause? Andropause is a diminishing of hormone output in various glands of men, and it occurs in the fourth and fifth decade of life. It could possibly be called male menopause, but some of the symptoms are different in men than in women.

Androgen means any hormone that is responsible in some way for male characteristics. Testosterone is the most well-known such hormone, there are others. So the word andropause means a slowing down or pause of androgens. In women the reproductive organs actually stop functioning, and although that does not happen in men, both sexes experience a reduction of hormones.

Are these results of aging unstoppable? Are all men doomed to experience the many and varied symptoms of andropause? These symptoms can include loss of vigor, loss of strength and muscle mass, feelings of gloom, weight gain, restless sleep or inability to sleep, as well as hair loss. Actually there is something one can do about it, which is what we will take up in the rest of this article.

Hormone replacement therapy is often recommended for women in menopause; it can as well benefit men during andropause. Two keys to making hormone replacement therapy work are replacing the missing hormones with bioidentical hormones and replacing all the diminishing hormones, not just one or two.

Many substitute hormones being sold are not exactly the same as the ones the body produces. Bioidentical means that the hormones match the ones produced by the body. This is important as obviously the body will recognize and use an identical hormone and not use a substitute that differs.

To find out which hormones need to be replaced and in what amount requires medical tests. The amount lost or rate of loss is not the same in every male – age and diet and physique make a difference. So the only way to determine what and how much to take is testing.

Once testing is done, and the facts are known, exact amounts of needed hormones can be given to a level that will compare to the levels of hormones in the body when one was young. Symptoms like lack of energy and interest in life, low libido, insomnia and loss of hair can slow down or halt or even reverse. Indeed, it seems like one regains youth.

There are no side effects to this natural procedure that slows the aging process. Many thousands of people have experienced new life and vigor from hormone replacement therapy. There’s no reason to age quickly – slow it down! Enjoy youth.
