How to get rid of extremely dry, rough, cracking skin?

I recently got a really bad sun burn..it was beet red and really sore for days..now the pain is gone but its real thight and dry. it has begun peeling and the skin underthe peeling skin is severely dry and cracking…i have tried 100%aloe and even Banana Boat Moidtutizing Aloe Aftersun Lotion.
If you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know..its extrmely uncomfortable and slightly painful.
